The current logo (attached) is already established on the market and the general notion of it should be preserved (e.g. when viewing from the distance, one should be able to see "something black with something smaller blue"). The blue part of the logo is a schematic drawing of the globe and we would like to preserve it as the part of the logo if possible.
Our logo is used in many contexts, and is commonly rendered in color, black-and-white (the blue part turns black then) and even cut from a sticker foil (sign-making).
To sum it up, we:
1. don't like the type ("ibl") used in the logo -- it should be more modern, sans-serif, preferably lowercase;
2. would like to give the globe part a modern, dynamic, sleek look, while keeping it simple (to avoid problems when being cut from the sticker foil), preferably without too much 3D/gradient effects;
3. definitely don't want to include the "software engineering" text that is present in the current logo;
4. want to communicate stability and maturity, while also want to emphasize the modernness, flexibility and knowledge that we possess.
Target audience are meteorological organizations throughout the world, where it may be assumed that the recipients are mostly male, educated, usually in the age group of 25 to 60, and of different cultures (western, arabic, etc.).
