this is an observatory in the mountains of Eagle, CO at 8700'. We are doing educational outreach free of charge to local schools and astronomy clubs, and are working on making the observatory available to educational groups anywhere via Internet access (free of charge). The observatory houses state of the art computer controlled equipment(16" DFM telescope, assortment of Apogee and SBIG cameras and is set up for astrophotography and astrometric analysis

A single image is best (astronomers hate double or shadow images). Not cartoon-like, but more realistic portrayal of something astronomic. No telescopes protruding from an observatory will be considered. Images with amateur telescopes on a tripod or satellite dishes are not interesting. Nor are we interested in the cliche images of Saturn, Big Dipper, 5 pointed stars and discourage things slashing thru the text. Planetary references more reflective of current events in astronomy may be of interest. Clean and crisp is a critical component, and may outweigh other shortcomings. Designs which are reflective of state of the art astronomic discoveries or elements which are subtly reflective of things which astronomers/astrophotographers recognize are appreciated, though others may miss these subtleties.
