Nichole did a great job for us, we appreciate all the effort it took to come up with the best design and win the contest. Thanks very much.
How Dave Battles started their logo design journey
No Scissors Vasectomy
The logo will be used on a website that provides both men and doctors with more information about this new and innovative procedure that uses a clip to block the flow of sperm from the testicles rather than require the cutting and cauterizing of the vas deferens as is done with a traditional vasectomy. The new procedure should be more acceptable and appealing to men (psycologically) and result in less pain, quicker recovery and results comparable to the currently accepted standard which is vasectomy. At the heart of the procedure is the Pro-Vas (R) occlusion device which is permanently clipped onto the vas deferens to block the flow of sperm. see: http://www.Pro-Vas.com for more information.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The website will primarily address prospective patients; men between 40 and 60 who are considering a vasectomy but are attracted to less invasive alternatives. Secondarily, there will be information on the website directed at doctors (urologists) giving them more information about the procedure and the Pro-Vas device.
The Logo should include the words: "No Scissors Vasectomy" (note that the website will be; "www.No-Scissors-Vasectomy.com") there should be a tagline that says; "Vasectomies without cutting or cautery"
As for whether this logo would include a graphic element is an open issue. I cannot personally think of what such a graphic would be...if a designer were to think of something, it might be of benefit, but if not, that would be okay too.
The colors should be blue (green 51/blue 153) or perhaps (red 6/green 99/blue 156) and any highlights could be the lighter blue (red 102/green 204/blue 255). Backgrounds or shading could be a light grey/blue (red 222/green 235/blue 242).
