Money Boot Camp For Student Life
Heading off to university soon? Well, things are about to change, big time! We’re talking about the change in your life and the change in your wallet.
For many students this will be the first time you’ll be living on your own. And with this freedom, comes responsibility! You’ll be doing all sorts of new things, like budgeting, paying rent, setting up online banking, understanding credit cards and learning your personal boundaries (like when to say NO!)
You’ll be managing much more than just your study and social life, from this day on… you’ll be managing your financial life too! Some of the most valuable (and hardest) lessons you’ll ever have to learn will be to do with money. And it’s totally up to you to get your game plan in place.
Why this is important?
Today more and more young people are becoming reliant on commercial credit to survive while studying. And what’s worse is these rates are scandalous and often near impossible to re-pay.
So are you ready for the game to change?
This workshop prepares students for the reality of independent living in today’s commercially credit driven environment! Students will learn that debt is a choice and how be street smart and be in charge of their money today through;
• Understanding how to budget within the context of university life.
• Identifying their current relationship with money and how to make it work for them; and
• Devising a financial plan, understanding the cause and effect of spending, saving and debt.
The timely event of this workshop will enable students to be knowledgeable about money before they leave the family home. This workshop gives them further time investigate options, gain valuable work experience and identify solutions to their financial needs before they leave for university life.
