Brightstar Solar
Brightstar Solar is a full-service photovoltaic engineering firm, meaning we manage the entire chain of our clients' experience having a solar electricity generating system installed on their building:
marketing -> design/engineering -> financing->installation
We are excited to work in a growing industry where we can create meaningful societal benefit. We believe solar is one way in which we can save the environment, reduce people's operating costs for their home or business, and be truly patriotic by "growing our own" energy.
Target: the people who are responsible for the energy behavior of the house or building they manage. Our market splits into two categories:
-homeowners looking to reduce their electric bills and "go green"
-facility managers and other people responsible for the operations of companies of all sizes who are concerned with managing overhead costs and enhancing their image as a good corporate citizen
We want our logo to portray stability, expertise, and a serious dedication to our technology and the environment. Although solar is still perceived as an emerging technology, we do not want to the logo to paint us as trendy or fly-by-night rookies. A significant amount of our work is in design & engineering, so our logo should look straight, uniform, and professional.
A star (or sun) should be incorporated in the design... but should not be as literal or childlike as "Bright Horizons" (http://brighthorizons.com).
"Brightstar" is one word, so the "S" should not be emphasized.
Stylistically, the logos of many large corporate construction firms and banking/finance firms convey the confidence we want to be our image. In the "Competitor Logos" file we attached, logos which have an air of severity and competence in our opinion are Borrego, alteris, Sunpower, and E2solar. These are our peers.
This logo will be used in multiple formats, including our website, letterhead, business cards, company vehicles, and shirts worn by our crew. Use of color is vital but should translate to b&w.
