ColoPress got their new logo design by running a design contest:
We need a logo for a new email series / website to help people plug into Colorado

Community & Non-Profit
PlugInto.CO will inform Colorado newcomers (and current residents) about the state: its food/agriculture, economy, housing, outdoor recreation, regional information, etc. through a 7-10 email newsletter series that contains the essentials of what newcomers need/want to know. We will add additional series (e.g., day trips, festivals, skiing, etc.) down the road. Our goal is to connect residents (and, secondarily, visitors) with their community as well as with their local news sources to continue to stay informed about what's going on around the state and in their communities. We are also launching a "What I Love About Colorado" weekly email series, with guest hosts that include local celebrities, politicians, business owners, editors and more. Much of this content will be on the web, and we will have online communities as well as in-person and virtual events. But the initial emphasis is on easily digestible and limited-run email series. The target audience is broad; what they have in common is a desire to be knowledgeable and active in their communities and throughout the state. We are also doing another brief for the same concept but under the name/URL of GetToKnow.CO. Feel free to submit under that brief as well.
We're mostly interested in pictorial and combination logos but are open to all ideas. The name/URL should be prominent. The logo should imply or reference Colorado. The text portion of the logo should probably be able to be used with or without any imagery you include (mountains, emails, sun, plugs, etc.)
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.
