How Thomas Gregg started their logo design journey
We are setting up a company which will focus on consulting students from Central America willing to study in Europe. This will be a unique concept. We already have agreements with magazines and TV stations in Honduras who will report about us. These articles and shows will also use the logo. Therefore we need a clean, simple, eye-catching and memorable logo which includes a tag line.
FORMACON - education matters
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
FORMACON is the short form for Formación Consulting and will offer personalized consulting to people seeking advice on their education path. FORMACON guides its clients during the process of choosing and applying to a university for any degree, program and for any specialization in Europe. The main market will be Central American students willing to study in Europe.
Our mission will be to enable students to make the right decision when selecting a university as well as an educational degree. Our goal will be to provide knowledge and guidance through the important process of choosing the best education path.
We already did some attempts for a logo which can be found at http://www.formacon.de We would like to stick to the colors in that logo and like the style of this one very much (because of the head and the hat):
The way FORMACON is written is all upper case. Our strapline is: 'education matters' all in lower case. That should not change.
We would like to see designs that show use of:
- the name FORMACON and the strapline only- an emblem itself, no wording- the word FORMACON plus an emblem and the strapline
We will attempt to provide feedback on every design submitted
As our main target group is young people graduating from High School or University the logo shall be something fresh and young as well. Maybe also a bit Web 2.0 stylish.
- Memorable- Striking- Clean- Scalable (SVG)- Colour, B & W and Monochrome versions- Easily understood and translates visually globally- Will work on light/dark backgrounds- The hat (see link above)- Web 2.0 style
- No bling - shine/reflection etc. use in moderation- No clutter- No photos
