We need an amazing logo to be used as the identity of a website about movies based on video games.
Gamerflicks
Desired Style:
Cool, clean, crisp, Web 2.0, professional looking, something that can stand side-by-side with the big boys (IGN, Gamespot, Blue's News, etc.)
Accepted File Formats:
300 pixels per inch is fine, preferably in Photoshop PSD format with layers.
Gamerflicks, a new website specializing in providing news about the world of video game movies, is looking for an amazing logo to brand the site's identity. We are looking for something that is a combination of a logo and the word Gamerflicks (or a creative presentation of the word to be used as the logo, like Coca-Cola, Playstation or Star Wars), something that is Web 2.0 sexy and cool but is also unique and original. It has to be memorable, professional looking and possess something that the reader will immediately brand with the Gamerflicks identity (think IGN or Blue's News.) At this point we don't want to limit your imagination and creativity so there is no color scheme to adhere to. The look and color identity of the chosen logo will be used to build the site's color scheme around. The logo could be simple or it could be complex, but we'll know what it is when we see it. Keep in mind that rich, vibrant colors set against dark background seem to be used for the majority of gaming and movie websites, but if you suddenly have a vision of what you think is the perfect logo, go for it. You should get some ideas alone from just the name of the website.
Hard specifics: we want a high quality image. 300 pixels per inch is fine, preferably in Photoshop PSD format with layers. If you have to, we'll accept JPG, PNG or TIFF formats.
We were impressed by the amount of creativity here on Sitepoint (specifically the Cinebar competition) and we would love to see some amazing design possibilities for this entertainment driven website. We're not corporate, we're creative, so keep that in mind when approaching your design. Please don't submit a design that has elements borrowed or taken from another website or company. Feedback will be offered to the designers submitting.
Good luck and thank you for considering our contest!
