Great skills and amazing work. Love the details in the logo and she showed no signs of laziness by giving me so many different color options.
Thanks for your flexibility

This project is a partnership between four major scientific societies to share facts about the teaching profession related to salary, retirement, job satisfaction. We are focused specifically on Physics, Chemistry and Math teachers because these are 3 of the 5 highest need areas in the nation. We have found that nearly half of all science, engineering, and math majors are interested in becoming teachers but only a few percent pursue the career. The biggest reason for not following their passion is the perception that teachers get paid a lot less than other careers with the same degree, that teachers can't retire comfortably, and that teachers are unhappy. It turns out that all of these reasons are misperceptions. We have built materials and resources to help faculty build a local campaign to get the facts out about the profession. Our primary target audience is faculty, secondary is students, high school teachers, and parents.

We would like an "icon" type logo. Something that conveys teaching and maybe the three disciplines: physics, chemistry, and math and maybe recruitment. We had considered three text books and an apple as a possible logo. We do not want a straight text treatment logo because teaching is not even mentioned in our project name - Get the Facts Out. Also we do not capitalize the "t" in "the" or else our acronym would be GTFO, which we do not want. GTFO has another meaning so we do not want to use it. We'd rather have a logo that can be next to the phrase Get the Facts Out. Also it should scale down well and work on both black and white backgrounds. We think Southwest Airlines branding is a good example of the type of thing that could work well for this project. I've attached a very rough draft idea but we're not married to this at all. Also, the font I used was just Calibre. We'd be happy with a better font. We like fonts like Ink Free, Maiandra GD, Segoe Print. With faculty we have to be careful not to use a font that they view as childish. This is not a project aimed at K-12, it's aimed at college faculty and students and is about a serious grown up profession.
