Food & Drink
We hand craft a range of artisan breads using traditional bread making techniques to produce uncompromised, premium quality, chemical free products for discerning retail buyers and for the local hospitality wholesale market.
I live in Melbourne, Australia, which has a dynamic and sophisticated food culture. The city has a wonderful cafe scene and is widely regarded as the number two coffee destination after Italy. Food is taken seriously in Melbourne and my products target those who understand what bread should look like and taste. While bread and other yeasted products are the primary focus, and this is a bakery at the fore, it is also a retail space where people can drink coffee and consume sweet and savoury breakfast and lunch items on site fresh out of the ovens. The name Zeppelin Bakehouse was chosen for a number of reason: Zeppelin is a German name as is my own; zeppelins are air ships from the turn of the 20th century with a shape reminiscent of a Vienna loaf; zeppelins represent an old school technology and time when things were done with greater craft and care, and yet were highly innovative and ground breaking for the time; Zeppelin is a term which is recognised in English but not in high usage. The images below are of some the products that we produce.
