The Logo, for website as well as Business Cards, should reflect the nostalgic past of The Cottage but not be "old fashioned".
A funky '50's retro vibe might bridge the past with the present, but is not mandatory.
Some retro COLOURS: that would be desirable are minty greens (seafoam) soft aqua, and even soft to vibrant yellows. Mossy greens and even olive might be o.k. as accents. The interior has bead board walls painted a soft green (B. M. cc 580 / Glazed Green). Try to avoid pinks and corals, as well as primary blues as these are my least favourite colours.
I really like the colour red and it makes a great accent colour.
FONTS: lettering and banners that might have been used in advertising during the '40's and '50's could be great. It might also be fun if some of the lettering looked like stitching, or even words stitched on fabric coming out of a sewing machine.
IMAGES: could include (but not limited) Vintage Sewing Machines, Spools of Thread, Steam Irons, Buttons, Pin Cushions (I don't know why, but the old ones are always shaped like a tomato) Dress Forms, Scissors, Needles, Thimbles, and many more.
Perhaps a tag line is necessary: "textile arts revived", "artfully handcrafting", "sewers retreat" "stitched to perfection", I'm not fixed on this, so I'm open.
Attached files are for inspiration, and fun (A bit contradictory perhaps, don't let them constrain you)
