The Foundry Bakehouse & Deli is a new business opening in Albion, MI. The bakery will be the primary focus in the business so the word “Deli” should be smaller, and have a less prominent placement would be appropriate. Albion is a small community, with an industrial, manufacturing background specifically, iron foundries. Line drawings of an aspect of a foundry may be appropriate such as the smoke stacks or moulder. The store itself will have some exposed brick, original to the building which is from 1852, and will blend the “dirty” work of the foundry through some darker colors with a comfortable and well-lit dining area.
The Albion community is relatively small, about 8,000 people, but the community also includes a small liberal arts college. Due to Albion’s location in Michigan, there is easy access to metropolitan areas such as Ann Arbor (home of the University of Michigan) and Lansing (home of Michigan State). The community does not lean towards, country bumpkin tendencies but more towards simple, clean but still rustic (not pretentious). The downtown is undergoing a revitalization and the bakery will be a part of it. The bakery will offer a few varieties of breads and some other pastry items such as cookies, scones, cupcakes, bagels etc.
The primary market will be the community of Albion as well as the college students and college professors and staff. The offerings will also be distributed to area businesses through catering offerings. Another market opportunity will be selling to a new Courtyard Marriott hotel just a block away.
We want the logo to be approachable, simple, and understated.
