Sarah Mintz got their new logo design by running a design contest:
KnowledgeBeat needs a new logo
Check out Sarah Mintz's Logo design contest…
KnowledgeBeat constructs social learning programs that deliver information and life skills to children in Africa. See attached overview for more detail. In short, KnowledgeBeat addresses major challenges such as gender equality and health, through weKNOW programs. Programs bring primary school students together to discuss issues, play games, and learn. The curriculum uses proven social learning (also called non-cognitive or social emotional learning) lessons that build characteristics such as tenacity, empathy, teamwork, and problem-solving - skills that are necessary to survive and thrive, especially in lower-income countries. Currently KnowledgeBeat is in a growth-stage. We are re-branding, looking to expand outside of Zambia, and evolving our curriculum to tablet and smart phone based apps containing program lessons and integrated feedback mechanisms.
Logo types to explore
We'd like to see options that include a logo around: 1) just the name / slogan; 2) "KB" (we sometimes refer to the organization as KB and are considering branding something around that abbreviation; 3) an abstract logo that incorporates the traditional aspects of knowledge with technology - one idea that had occurred was something associated with neural networks - ie an image of dendrites - representing both the web of knoweldge, technology and social. We do want new coloring - moving away from the red. Variations of orange, purple, yellow, and green are great, or others that you feel would work. We do not want to use the African continent shape, so please avoid that. Simplicity is key for us. We want simple, clear, crisp branding. thank you!
