Update: also look at comments section for more feedback! thanks!
Would love to see you go wild with your idea - I'm somewhat loosely defining it to be flexible, to see what will surprise me! Don't be afraid to ask for feedback frequently :)
This will be the company logo, identity of the fighting force to attack the overcharging big companies; something we'd like to trademark. This will be used on our web site, slide decks, business cards, letter head, etc.
The name of the company is Killer Bees & Co. (note: I prefer abbreviation of “Co.” over “Company”), because the domain is killerbees.co
The mascot is a bee, a cute/cartoonish bee trying to furiously wheelie a motorcycle (sports bike, not a chopper). It would look kinda funny and memorable, wouldn’t it ? (funny little insect attempting a serious act!)
Companies like Geek Squad are overcharging customers for simple computer repair; and some of their employees in turn are paid very little (even as little as $10/hour!) I want to help the average consumer, and the hardworking & honest techie. Why not let them connect with each other without needing a middle man? That's the plan.
But clearly the logo isn't literally conveying what the site is doing ;) It's just something fresh, fun, and catchy. Imagine someone saying, "is it that company with the bee on a motorcycle doing a wheelie?"
I hope to change the world by setting an example, a trend of things to come: that as consumers adopt more technology in their lives, they won't have to face the same repair experience as with auto-repair, where its so difficult to find cheap & honest help. There is *no* reason why it should be that way.
Our target audience is anybody who walks into Best Buy (bestbuy.com), so it’s a pretty mainstream audience who knows how to at least use a phone, TV, & computer.
* Must look good on a white background
* No stock images, clip art, cheesy stuff, or anything copied from someone else.
* prefer simple/clean over complex/messy
* not a must, but prefer a logo that would also print well in black and white
* Please use a consistent font for the word "Killer Bees & Co." (spelled exactly like that). I don't want "& Co." to be marginalized as an after thought. Equal emphasis on the whole full name please! :)
* Having a motorcycle is a must, and it should be in a tilted position (a wheelie).
Examples of some logos I like:
I understand that communication is key; I promise to offer plenty and not leave you wondering why. I know it's an iterative process. Also feel free to contact me directly for more feedback (over-communicating is better than under-communicating).
I'm pursuing this with 100% of my time because I believe that this change is good for the world. I promise to put in a good word for you as reference, if that will help you out in any way at all with your portfolio. Help me change the world!
Good luck and I look forward to your ideas of a free-wheelin' killer bee (and will give you feedback ASAP). Please deliver winning logo formatted for the web, e.g. PNG, JPG, etc. and the source PSD (or?)
