Jewish Music Network (part of http://www.ijmf.org)
Amsterdam's International Jewish Music Festival Foundation is starting a new initiative: supporting year-round programming throughout the Netherlands. Thanks to our bi-annual competition (the 2nd edition takes place in October 2010), IJMF has developed at network of first class ensembles - both well-established groups and bands that are just breaking through. These ensembles are eager to perform across the Netherlands, and by assisting with programming, marketing, and coordination of concerts, IJMF Foundation hopes to boost the careers of these artists while broadening the availability of Jewish music to a wider Dutch audience. The primary market for Jewish music is the Dutch Jewish community, but we hope for a broader appeal. Our ideal audience spans all age-groups and enjoys everything from classical to klezmer, from hip-hop to jazz.It may be obvious, but the Jewish Music Network logo should embody the concepts of "Jewish", "Music" and "Network".

The IJMF festival's logo can be seen on our site http://www.ijmf.org. The Jewish Music Network logo can make use of the same rainbow colors, or not.
One idea, but not a requirement: use the 6 pointed Star of David as the inspiration of a 'network'.
We will use the logo as a sort of "seal of approval" for member organizations, with the word "Member" (or "Lid" in Dutch) above the logo, and then the text “Jewish Music Network” (or “Netwerk Joodse Muziek”) below it.
The design should:
-be clearly recognizable from a distance
-work well both in color and in b&w
-work both with and without the text mentioned above
added notes:
-I'm not a fan of using Hebrew letters as part of notes. It's a bit obvious, and I saw many variations during the design of our foundation's logo.
-I'd like a strong association with a network, and one visualization I have found online is

and lastly, PLEASE LOOK AT THE COMMENTS I've given your colleagues. I hate to repeat myself about elementary points you can save yourself a lot of precious time.
