About us
Setting up an IUD service at a general practice clinic. Current website reads: "Now offering Copper, Mirena & Kyleena Intrauterine Device (IUD) insertion, replacement and check up care. IUDs are over 99% effective at protecting against pregnancy for up to 5 years. It does not prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) At your 1st appointment, we will confirm an IUD is suitable for you. Before having an IUD fitted, you will have some tests to rule any pelvic infections & pregnancy. At the time of insertion, you may consent for an IUD insertion. We will follow up if the test results from your 1st appointment are negative. Your GP will discuss the contraindications and risks involved with an IUD fitting. You will also be instructed on after care (i.e. no intercourse, use of menstrual cups or tampons for the 2 days after insertion to reduce the chances of infection). Call our reception on 03 9379 2242 for any questions and for pricing. No referral required.
