Personal Development. Professional Achievement.
The Won Institute of Graduate Studies is a professional graduate school with Master's Degree programs in Acupuncture Studies, Won Buddhist Studies, and Applied Meditation Studies. We also offer a Chinese Herbal Medicine certificate program and have on-site acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine clinics.
Logo types to explore
The Won Institute of Graduate Studies is looking for a new institutional seal. We currently have a logo which we will continue to use on our website, business cards, and letterhead. The seal that we want designed will be embossed on our diplomas and used on various official documents. This new seal design should represent the key philosophy of the Won Institute--integrative education. The goal of education at the Won Institute is to cultivate the integrated person, one who is advanced in professional knowledge and grounded in self-cultivation. The Institute is dedicated to promoting education and research on many levels: intellectual, cultural, religious, scientific, practical, and multi-disciplinary. We also integrate non-denominational sitting and moving meditation into the curriculum of all of our programs in an effort to promote the self-development of our students. With this combination of self-cultivation and professional knowledge, graduates become leaders who interact with and serve the public, recognizing and honoring the interdependence of all beings and helping to create a truly civilized world. When someone views our seal, we want them to gain an immediate understanding of this philosophy. The design for the seal must be detailed enough to look professional when printed on larger items, such as podium signs and official documents but simple enough to appear on an embossing plate 1.5 inches in diameter without loss of detail. This design should contain the full name of the school (Won Institute of Graduate Studies) and, if possible, our motto ("Personal Development. Professional Achievement.") In general, our organization's aesthetic is centered around simple and clean design. The design can either be completely black and white or can incorporate our gold logo color (PMS 1245). In terms of the actual imagery of the seal, we are pretty flexible with one caveat--while it is okay to incorporate our logo into the seal, the logo should not be the only imagery. We don't want a seal that just has the circle from our logo in the middle. I have attached several images of seals similar to what we are looking for as well as our current logo. The general design can be similar in layout to other seals, however the iconography displayed in the middle of the seal should reflect the aforementioned philosophy of the Won Institute.
