Glean is the name of a business incubator that provides extensive support for folks who are interested in innovating in the realm of spiritual, religious, sacred, or community-based needs. We work at the intersection of spirituality and innovation. The word “Glean” references the concept of learning (i.e. gleaning new ideas), and the concept of Lean Startup (http://www.theleanstartup.com).
Individuals who are selected to participate in Glean are provided with training in a weekly online course, mentoring, coaching, funding, and sustainable support networks for their startups addressing faith-based interests. Glean is a program of a thinktank called Clal - the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership.
Our audience is largely millennial, business savvy, faith-oriented, and looking for ways that spirituality and innovation intersect.
Our logo should appeal to entrepreneurs who approach us with startup ideas, individuals and organizations who might support or fund the incubator, as well as those simply interested in the intersection of innovation and the sacred/spiritual. We want to communicate that we value and also appeal to those who value a fresh, modern, innovative approach to the world of faith that is serious, yet accessible, while respecting and finding inspiration in the roots of our respective wisdom traditions or whatever it is we might consider sacred.
