A training program and verification (via proficiency test on equipment) of British Columbia pump operator's ability to safely operate a concrete pump.
To operators, the program is a way to prove their credentials.
To general contractors (who hire the pump operators) the program gives them peace of mind that they are hiring someone who has passed the test and can operate equipment safely on their construction jobsite.

The strategic objective of this program is to provide comprehensive safety standards for competent concrete pump operation. The Goals of the program are:

1. To reach out and engage all concrete pump operators in the province about the awareness of and procedure for the concrete pump operator competency certification program.
2. To educate stakeholders about best practices for concrete pump safety on job sites which will contribute to higher safety awareness and lower incident rates.
3. To develop and deliver clear requirements and the procedure for competency certification. In essence, no surprises for organizations and individuals registering for certification.
4. To bring a measureable level of professionalism to the sector that can be recognized within the construction industry and by their customers.
