Honey & Dear, http://www.honeyanddear.com,
Andrew & Emily Sorlie are a husband and wife team. We used to be called Sorlie Arts (http://www.sorliearts.com) and together, we produce wedding films & corporate video. We found that especially our wedding clients found our SorlieArts.com name and website to be very corporate feeling. So, we launched Honey & Dear as a 'pseudonym' and have been using that name since about April of 2010.
We are in our twenties. We love cooking together and for friends. Andrew's specialty is hand made pasta, Emily's specialty is any type of pie. We love watching (and dissecting) movies together. We love doing everything together. We love our work and we love the people we get to work with.
We are not a typical, cheesy wedding videographer. It's very important that you know we are wedding filmmakers - or wedding cinematographers. We don't make wedding videos - we make wedding films. The quality of our work is much better than a traditional videographer. The fact that we are a husband and wife team is key. The fact that we are the same age as our couples is key.
We are very down-to-earth, but our client is probably a bit more high-end.
We are open to ideas, but I will warn you - Andrew is stubborn and picky. Emily is much more gracious - but while we may be a bit more choosy - we also need you to know that this business is our baby.
Our primary Target Audience is Brides between the ages of 25-35. They are probably going to invest $40,000+ on their wedding. They are likely young, urban professionals and have an eye for quality. They appreciate the arts and value handcrafted stuff. We only work with a handful of couples each year - maybe 15-20. We really focus on creating relationships with our couples and end up having friends in the end. These brides are getting married in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as well as the Muskokas.
Our secondary audience is high-end wedding photographers who will be our referral partners.
We think we kind of are our brand. What we are looking for from you is a logo - a mark, a crest, a seal....
We tell visual stories for our couples. We pride ourselves on seeing the small details of the day that most people miss, and highlighting them to show how they reflect the unique personalities of our couples. No two couples are the same - and it is the small quirky details that sets them apart.
We love warm colours - warm yellows, oranges, peaches, muted greens and blues.
We also appreciate details. We love quirky, and fun, we love things with a vintage and nostalgic feel. We love things that have an imperfect, handmade, unique quality. These are the things that make a wedding feel luxurious, and fun, and intriguing and warm. We want our logo and branding to convey a product that exudes these elements of quality and value, as well as something personal, friendly, familiar.
