Ohlone Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare nonprofit serving Fremont, Newark, and Union City. We advocate for all creatures, from urban wildlife to companion animals. While OHS doesn’t operate a shelter, we’re one of the few humane societies to maintain a wildlife rehabilitation center. Founded in 1983, Ohlone Humane Society began as a grassroots group dedicated to bettering the lives of shelter animals. After a monumental effort driven by petitions, council sessions, and rallying the public, the Tri-City Animal Shelter was built in the heart of Fremont. Since those early days, Ohlone Humane Society has expanded its programs and services to benefit the animals and our community. The programs range from therapy animal teams visiting facilities from hospitals to schools to libraries, pet meals on wheels helping our underserved community, rescuing homeless kittens, and to rehabilitating our local wildlife. Our latest program, Shelter Assistance, embraces our roots and supports the Tri-City Animal Shelter as they advance their community outreach and lifesaving efforts. Logo and branding should reflect the services and species found on our website (www.ohlonehumanesociety.org) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/OhloneHumaneSociety), and convey the following: Feeling: Helping the animals and our community.
