I'm so excited to work with designers to create an ideal logo for my new passion - a website devoted to helping parents and families who have a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. (http://www.NICUCentral.com) Support and information about this intense and scary experience is difficult to find online, so I intend to build a site where parents can find information, resources, guidance and support to get through this time. I will be blogging, recommending products to purchase, creating educational videos, hosting support forums, etc.
What sets my site apart from others out there is that I am a nurse, whereas most other NICU support comes from former NICU parents. So I have the nursing background, and want to convey a bit of that professionalism. But I don't want it to be too heavy, too medical, too intimidating .... these parents are scared, need something sort of comforting yet authoritative.
I love the idea of a stamp/seal which I could use to give a "seal of approval" to products I recommend, so I am often drawn to badge-type logos. But I am open to just about anything right now - you all have the knowledge about what works well and I'm eager to consider all creations. I am committed to being involved in the process, giving as much feedback as possible to make your work easier and more clear.
Possibly might use the words: Nurture, Inform, Counsel, Understand if it seemed appropriate. Totally not necessary though.
I originally didn't want images of baby, bottle, pacifier, baby feet, baby hands, hospital plus sign (these are all way over-used), but I'm getting feedback from my clients that the badge is so masculine, it needs some softening, so I'm willing to consider them.
I don't like my current header image - it is just something as a place holder.
Thanks for considering this contest - I hope my site will be an important help to families, but I need your help to make it look awesome! I have not yet made an effort to get traffic to the site because I need a
great brand/logo/identity before I can make the big push!
