We are a start-up software company selling to K-12 school districts and are about to begin actively marketing our platform. Our current company name is Education Incites. We have found that clients and prospects have a tendency to shorten our name and refer to us as Ed Incites. Therefore, we are considering shortening the company name (to Ed Incites) and would like to see some logo ideas. I have attached our current brand styleguide, which includes our logo, color palette and font. (We do not want a tagline included in the logo.) I have also attached some preliminary concepts that I played around with (Ed Incites options.pdf). These were created in PowerPoint as I don't have any design software, so I'd be interested in seeing some clean executions of any of these that you like.
Our platform replaces paper/pencil tests - students use our platform to take assessments online. So no pencils, please. We replace pencils!
The current icon used in our logo represents a mass of data points that educators need to make sense of. (I've attached a flier that uses the icon to explain our vision (2-page flier.pdf). We envision animating the icon in a video for the homepage of our website. BUT, we are open to other icons in the logo (if we can find something better). We are also open to tweaks to our corporate colors (but please note that many of our competitors use various shades of blue, so we DO NOT want blue as a central color - see PowerSchool.com, Illuminateed.com).
The logo needs to convey high-tech, performant technology as we have a new platform that is built from the ground up on the latest technology. (Many of our competitors have been in market for 10-15 years and are built on older, less performant architecture). We also build better relationships with our clients and take a more consultative approach than the larger companies where they can feel like just another number in the list of clients. We are looking for something clean, modern and new/fresh as the latest entry to the market.
Depending upon the logo design, we may need a horizontal and vertical version. That is our current scenario and I have attached a both versions of our logo for reference.
