Kickapoo Community Sanctuary
We're branding an entire watershed in Southeastern Wisconsin with the primary goal of representing all the stakeholders of the valley together under one large umbrella organization that can better serve and protect our vital natural resources through networking and valley-wide organized conservation efforts.
Stakeholders of the Kickapoo Watershed which include small family Organic Dairy Farmers, Trout fisherman, NGO's, Naturalists, Outdoor Enthusiasts, Bird Watchers, Horseback Riders, Mountain-bikers, and on an on.
The final logo needs to communicate 3 key elements all relating back to the Title.
A. Kickapoo. The Kickapoo Valley watershed. Should be represented by karst topography and a deep ravine river valley. See http://kickapooearthday.wordpress.com
B. Community. The stakeholders of the valley's diverse resources should be represented by a hand or the vague shape of a hand as can be seen in the included concept sketch.
C. Sanctuary. While this word refers to all living creatures in the valley, we've chosen the Cerulian Warbler, a key indicator species (think Canary in a cool mine) to represent creatures of the valley.
The tagline is "We Call it Home"
The attached concept is a clear representation of what we are after with each of the 3 elements sharing equal space. The hand can be implied, as in the river can turn into a branch that looks like a hand. The Warbler can be scaled a bit for realism then and the only request is that he look "cute". Should be a distinct river and some representation of valley walls.
I'm not a big fan of gradients and the simpler the design the better in my mind. 3 colors max.
I have to submit T-shirt and PostCard designs with the new logo next week, so this is a hot one.
