Small Business Marketing TV (smallbusinessmarketingtv.com)
SBMTV is a video blog, focussed on marketing topics specifically for small businesses. We specialise in teaching/educating about direct response style of marketing, NOT Image/branding marketing. This means we help our clients use advertising & marketing to get website traffic, generate sales leads, SELL stuff and so forth, not just to look cool...
Our site is designed to educate visitors about successful marketing concepts and strategies, with a longer term goal of getting them to buy our products or employ us to help them with their marketing needs.
The main marketing avenue we specialise in is online, but with a smattering of offline (print/YP/radio, etc) where appropriate.
If it's possible to turn our full url (smallbusinessmarketingtv.com) into a logo, that would be cool, as it would serve 2 purposes - putting a brand out there to help identify us (whether on our videos, website, or offline business cards, etc), and it would also give our website address all in 1.
There are several other websites using this name (small business marketing tv), and if someone has to google the name, they might not find us, hence the full url as the logo will get rid of that problem.
Every video we publish (on youtube, vimeo, etc) would need to have the logo on it to both brand the source of the info AND also give our website address out to those wanting to come to our site and look around. One of the most common places I want my logo to show up on is video - after all, sbmtv IS a video blog, which means most of our content is in video format, so whatever you design NEEDS to look clear and legible on a (for example) typical Youtube video.
As for my target audience: small business owners who are somewhat online savvy (after all, if they don't use the net, they can't find us) and keen to get help growing their business's sales using effective marketing strategies (particularly online).
They would most likely NOT have in-house marketing expertise (themselves or an employee), since we're appealing to those who NEED/WANT that expertise, and either want help learning to become a skilled marketer OR do the marketing work for them.
Experienced marketers (marketing manager, ad agency exec, etc.) are NOT our target market.
Age: at a guess, 18-45, male & female.
Locality: Worldwide (english speaking) - the net is our home, we don't have a physical "office" - it's all online.
The files we require are:
- Print: .ai and layered .psd, both in CMYK
- Web: transparent/non-transparent .png, .jpg and layered .psd in RGB
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
If you're going to run with a wordmark logo, it MUST MUST MUST be easy to read at different sizes. As a general rule, from my experience, this means san serif font. Of course, if you can surprise me with a serif font that is very easily readable at most sizes, whether on a video or banner, etc then that's fine.
