How James@drivegreen started their logo design journey
DriveGreen is a New Zealand Eco-Company offering individuals and businesses the chance to compensate for their vehicle carbon emissions through tree-planting. We believe in the importance of diverse, environmentally-relevant forestation and will ensure the planting and consistent maintaining of New Zealand native trees throughout Aotearoa (New Zealand).
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
A wide ranging audience.
We want to attract and target both individuals and businesses that already care for the environment.
Yet we want our design to be able to attract new individuals and businesses, ones who would traditionally not choose to work with an eco-company.
We need a logo that will represent the heart of our business: an individual or business balancing their carbon footprint by turning transport pollution into clean, green trees.
Most importantly this image has to be very simple and yet easily recognizable as we plan to use it on a variety of media, from very small stickers to affix to a vehicle, to stationary and to online and larger scale branding.
In our initial brainstorming, obviously, the colour green was a central element (not just for the eco message but also for the clean, green New Zealand image).
We also liked the concept of including a tree icon and/or vehicle icon. We would be interested in anything involving perhaps a "making our tread lighter" idea - we wondered about tyre tracks turning green. We are open to concepts as long as they are, once again, clean, simple and recognizable.
