Organizational Industry: Healthcare/Medicine/Medical and Software
The logo will be the brand for our medical software start-up company. We want a logo design that can be used on our website, letterhead, and other marketing materials. As a start-up company, we need to help communicate that we are a professional, innovative company in the healthcare industry. Ultimately we will be selling medical “apps” that provide solutions to these different groups: hospital administrators, doctors, nurses, and clinical researchers. It has to balance the idea that we are enabling the medicine of the future, today vs. we are sensitive to the different stakeholders and their needs. We prefer simple, clean, iconic logos. We would love a logo that could convey other information or meaning to our customer.
Waves: Things that change over time and we make sense of them.Complexity: a large scale structure that is made up of a number of smaller simpler structures. We reduce complexity.
For concepts, we'd like to stay away from the standard caduceus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caduceus) because it's been used so much, but if you came up with an awesome idea for it or variation then we'd certainly consider it. We're skeptical of using the traditional hospital + symbol because it's not international (i.e. the Red Cross has to re-brand and rename itself to the Red Crescent in the Middle East because crosses are forbidden) but we're not totally ruling out the + either.
Attached are the current logo and another concept. We are not stuck to either of these designs.
For the color, we'd like to stick with the teal that we have now. We do not want to have more than 2-3 colors. If you use Pantone it's 320C, RGB is 0, 156, 163 and the HTML is 009CA3. For complementary colors we like a light gray where the RGB is 217, 217, 217, or plain white or black. In our current logo, the font we use is called Neuropolitical (you can download it here for free http://www.dafont.com/neuropolitical.font), but we are also open to new ideas. We like the square/rounded image that's part of the logo now because it is reminiscent of “apps”, but we don't need to keep that in the logo.
We need to have a color version and a greyscale version. We will need to have the logo as a vector image file.
If we like your design, we would be interesting in doing several follow-on projects for icon, and graphic content for our marketing materials.
