Website will be "http://www.TrustyTradesPeople.com"
We are two regular guys on a mission to change the building industry in the UK by dragging it into the 21st century.
We are fed up with seeing people getting ripped off by unreliable tradespeople doing rubbish work for extortionate rates.
We will champion householders rights to get building work done on time and for a fair price.
We want to target householders in the UK who need work done on their house and don't want to risk getting ripped off.
It's important to recognise that many of the people using our site will be women and so we don't want to come over as rude and unfriendly. We are honest and trustworthy people and we expect that most of our customers will be the same.
We want them to feel their home is in safe hands. We are pitching at mid market - people who own their own homes but those homes are not necessarily mansions :)
We are looking for a logo around which to build our whole brand for TrustyTradesPeople.com
One problem with the building industry is that it's often represented as very macho & male dominated.
We have called the company TrustyTradesPeople.com not TrustyTradesMEN as we will also have lady tradespeople on our books - this must be reflected in the image.
An idea we are quite keen on is a male and female tradesperson in hard hats and overalls.
1. Nothing too complex please - it needs to be easily recognisable across many media.
2. Nice and colorful please - No prizes for subtly, this needs to get the message over loud and proud.
3. The typeface should be clear, simple, bold and workperson like. Should be clear and easy to read at a distance.
4. Approachable and friendly - We want a warm and informal look so that people will not feel put off or think that we will be condescending.
Here's some examples of what we are trying to avoid:
http://www.myworkman.co.uk/
http://www.trustmark.org.uk/
The files we will require are:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
It's important that we have a vector version of the logo. Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
