We provide resources and tools for patients, doctors and families to promote informed decision making, patient-engagement, and shared decision-making training in medical decisions. Our Mission: is to discover and promote best practices to create conversations that combine the expertise of patients, clinicians and best available clinical evidence to support informed medical decisions.

We are a small team of 6 staff working at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Our department provides high-quality health information to patients and families to promote informed decision making. We provide training and support to providers and clinicians to promote active shared decision making. We encourage patient-clinician partnership through a collaborative relationship. Our goal is to ensure patients receive the care that’s right for them. We want to ensure every patient/family facing decisions about a medical test or treatment is informed, engaged and has a voice in the decision. Our work helps to advance science/knowledge of medical decision making at MGH.
