How Moonlight Labs started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Mana Wai Farms
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Mana Wai Farms is a modern aquaponics farm, located on Maui, Hawaii. The words "Mana Wai" translates to "Life Energy Water". It's in reference to how plants grow in the nutrient-rich water of the aquaponics system.
We sell microgreens primarily, but also do extensive experimentation w/ growing other plants.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Greens: Growth, harmony and success.
Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision.

To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
I'd like the logo style to be a Hawaiian-ish reflection of Aquaponics. It's a closed system involving plants and live fish. For reference, I've attached an image that quickly demonstrates the concept of Aquaponics.
The logo will be used in print, like on letterheads, so it will need to look good in monochrome if we need to convert it.
Also attached are some styles I like. Not necessary to follow them, I'm just including them for reference. However, I do REALLY like the black 'volcano' image concept because it seems to tell a story. Something like that might be nice to show of the circular nature of aquaponics. *shrug*, just a thought.
Our website is basically a giant background image of the farm. The logo should look ok on an image. Kinda like these:
