We're getting a lot of designs that are too focused on the male symbol and spy (looking / stalking) symbols. This is not the direction that we'd want to move to. We're looking for something that's different - a more abstract view of a literal idea.
Who Are We?
GuySpy is a gay dating app recently acquired by Pink Triangle Press. Being an existing product, there’s already a branding guide created for the company, but we don’t want the existing logo to serve as inspiration for you in any shape or form. Think of this as a complete overhaul rather than a logo update.
What the product does
GuySpy is a dating / hookup app for gay men designed to enable gay men to meet and hookup. It isn't however, a romantic brand - the logo shouldn't include hearts and rainbows.
The target audience for GuySpy is 18-40 year old gay/bi men.
As logical as it might sound at first to use a weapon/gun in association with the word “spy” we would like our imagery to stay away from any kind of weapon/gun connections. Also, if so you so choose to refer to our industry, we’d prefer the focus to be on “connecting people” rather than focusing on “sex”.
We will also reject any themes that include:
- too literal interpretation of the name (ie. male symbols)
- too focussed on spying (ie. stalking)
