I'm opening a brand new distributor company in Chicago and SE Wisconsin to make money and help the environment at the same time. I will be distributing Capstone MicroTurbines exclusively at first. Their logo is http://www.capstoneturbine.com. I'm 30 and am a one man shop for now. I'll be hiring an applications engineer when orders start coming in. I'll be wearing suits on sales calls, but also getting dirty turing nuts and bolts when we install the turbines.
The name NewLoop Energy came from two places. "The Loop" is the center of downtown Chicago and I wanted to have some identifying feature with Chicago. Loop is also a play on words representing an electrical loop or circuit. Since I didn't want it to seem like the same old thing, New was added to the front.

The market is three fold. One is working directly with clients that will be owners of hospitals, hotels, large commerical and residential properties. Second, will be working with Energy consultants on larger scope projects that will need more than a microturbine. Third, spreading the word and selling Engineering, Architecture, and Design companies on the virtues of using Capstone Microturbines in their design specs.
I think the color green should be at least part of the logo. One thought I had was a play on "yellow and blue makes green" might look cool, but that is just one idea and not required. Something relatively simple that can shrink down to an iphone app or blackberry, but can also look good larger on printed material or a polo shirt. The logo might also include the text for my company NewLoop Energy, LLC so that I can use your logo for a business card. The logo should be a .psd so I can play with it in Photoshop.
