Xavier D. got their new logo design by running a design contest:
A great logo for an awesome supercomputing software project
Check out Xavier D.'s Logo design contest…
Modules is an open source software project . Modules is a tool that helps people to organize their work on large computing system providing them a modular shell environment. https://cea-hpc.github.io/modules/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercomputer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_(computing)
Other color requirements
Modules is also called "Environment Modules" for disambiguation. So it would be good to have this "Environment" word appearing (small) somewhere on the logo. In addition, I think it is preferable to see the "Environment" word prior the "Modules" word (above for instance) to read "Environment Modules" and not "Modules Environment". The logo of Modules should express the sense of modularity, of flexibility. Looking at it, you should feel this is an IT project, active and up-to-date. Also to give you a bit more of the spirit of the project: this Modules tool manipulates packages in a clever way that correctly handles the dependencies these packages have between each other. The 2 logo images provided along are used by software in the same technical field. Lmod is the direct competitor of Modules. The logo of Modules should not be too close from these two even if I like very much the effect on the "o" letter on the Lmod logo. I provide a third logo image (an orange TF), which is the logo of the TensorFlow software project. I like such simple geometric shapes combined together to represent multiple letters. Having some isometric shapes applied to the "M" letter of Modules would be interesting. Regarding the red colors to explore, I would like to find among them the red color from my company logo (http://www.cea.fr/PublishingImages/cea.jpg)
