rshacklett got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Grand Alpine Logo

I am looking for a logo for a rental cabin in the mountains. The web address is www.grandalpine.com (page not built yet) and the wording would be Grand Alpine Cabin (although we would want to be able to use it with and without the text).
Grand Alpine Cabin
What's your vision?
Desired Color Scheme: earth tones Desired Style: open to ideas; informal Accepted File Formats: .ai or .psd preferred; vector graphics preferred This logo is for a cabin that will be rented out on a short-term basis. The cabin is located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The logo will be used primarily on the website and on electronic/paper correspondence. I'm envisioning mountains and pine trees. I feel the cabin should be somewhat nondescript. In other words, while a log cabin is picturesque this actual cabin/house is not made of logs and I wouldn't want the logo to misrepresent what the cabin is. Also, please do not use a smokestack/fireplace as the cabin does not have one. Obviously, I could go to great lengths describing what this property actually does/doesn't have, but I'd rather simply make the point that the logo should convey the concept of a cabin in wooded mountains without being too detailed.
