The South Seattle area is filled with families of fisherman, dockworkers, aircraft factory workers, grungy historical buildings, and a general "western" swagger. Dr. Studerus is looking for a very masculine logo in the style of a barber or hotrod or lumberjack logo.

Go masculine or go home! ;-) Dr. Studerus does fun ads featuring lumberjacks who are afraid of the dentist. He wears flannel shirts, drives hotrods, and rebuilds houses for fun. A big key to his success is that he doesn't come across like the typical bookish nerd dentist -- instead, he fits well into his blue collar community of fishermen and aircraft worker families. Modern barber logos are good touch points (barbers were the first dentists) -- along with hotrod logos, or lumberjack style ideas. Bonus points for great typesetting of the name "Studerus" in Studerus Dental. Feel free to be playful with the "dental" aspects if you can. Toothbrushes and dental mirrors instead of razors?
