GWP got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Global WOD Project: LOGO needed
Check out GWP's Logo design contest…
Travel & Hotel
This logo is for an international travel blog. I'm embarking on a global trip structured around working out (and observing the culture) in CrossFit gyms around the world. WOD is a CrossFit term for "Workout Of the Day."
Logo types to explore
Ideally, the logo could stand alone and also work into a site header. The site is still in draft stages, but you can get an idea of size limitations here: http://www.globalwodproject.com --I love the idea of the typography being bold, powerful and having the "hand-drawn" feel --I love the idea of incorporating some "old world map" feel/texture --Please experiment with silhouetting one or more CrossFit movements (Air Squat, Pull-up, Push-up, Dip, Handstand Push-up, Rope Climb, Muscle-Up, Handstand, Back Extension, Sit-up, Lunges, Jump Rope, Deadlifts, Push Press, Push Jerk, Split Jerk, Snatch, Thruster, Clean and Jerk, Overhead Squat, Wall Balls, Kettlebell Swing) --Other elements I like: compass, map/latitude lines, airplane, dumbbell, barbell, kettle bell --Feel free to use any variation of GWP or Global WOD Project Of course, these are all just suggestions---looking forward to what your great mind creates!
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
GWP collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
