GreenSpring Marketing Copy and Story
6/28/2017 Version 1.0
The uploaded "Maori" design could be cool in a droplet form. Try incorporating this type of spiral.
Also we want to use caps in the logo with clean text (unsure of font). Use caps but make the G and S larger. Also make the word Green green and the word Spring blue.

Please note again that spirulina is not a leaf so we can't use those designs with leaves in them. Try to incorporate more of the green spiral shape rather than a leaf :)

- Please view the pinterest board - https://www.pinterest.com/sashaxr/g…mood-board
- While some of the designs in the Pinterest board have a leaf in it, spirulina is actually not a leaf. We really like the design with the droplets. Try combining a drop with blue and green colors, possibly with a spiral incorporated into the drop as well.
INTRODUCTION FOR DESIGNERS -
Up to now Spirulina has always been presented as a "gee whiz", high-tech supplement product, a story that is thoroughly played out.
With our Farm Fresh Spirulina we are presenting an approachable food which can be incorporated into your daily diet - a food, not just a supplement, grown by people you can relate to, with a very simple message: feed yourself and your world with a locally-grown food with twice as much protein as meat and four times the antioxidants of blueberries, that uses literally one thousand times less water than beef. No gimmicks, it just grows that way, soaking in the California sunshine, making the best stuff you can put in your body.
Brand-wise, this shows up as an artisanal feel, simple and direct language. Raw cardboard, low-key fonts.
Examples of products exuding the qualities would be the following companies: Art in the Age, Dear North, and Forager.
(general overview and first take on About Us section of the web site)
GreenSpring is built on the belief that the healthiest foods are fresh, local and good for people and the planet. Spirulina is a superfood that is a complete source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and protein. A serving of fresh spirulina has more antioxidants than a serving of blueberries, more protein than a serving of steak, and more vitamins and minerals than a serving of kale. All combined in one amazing food!
Currently the only way to get spirulina is to buy it from large industrial growers in powder or pill form. These dried forms of spirulina are ok, but have a very strong taste and, similar to powdered milk, a lot of the best aspects of the nutrition are lost while making the powder. These companies sell the powder because it is easy. We believe the best nutrition comes from the freshest foods and we want to do the extra work to deliver farm fresh spirulina directly to you.
Our commitment to quality starts with the water that we pull from our own well in the fertile heartland of California. We test all aspects of the water quality and mineral content to make sure our spirulina has the best water to grow in. We add our own specially blended nutrient mix (made right here on the farm) so we can make sure that all of the ingredients are held to the highest standards. Unlike the large industrial farms, we grow our spirulina in covered pools so that we can make sure there is absolutely no outside contamination. Our covered pools, along with our unique process for reclaiming and purifying all water from the harvest, gives us the most water efficient form of protein on the planet. Once we add our special spirulina culture this little magical algae then takes in the nutrients, CO2, and sunlight and turns that directly into the amazing superfood we deliver to you!
GreenSpring started before we even met. It started with all of us independently looking to reduce the amount of meat we were eating in our diet. We realized this was critical for both health and environmental reasons. However, we were having a hard time making satisfying meals.
Spirulina is the perfect way to add a super healthy dose of protein, vitamins and minerals to any meal, but when we tried the powders the strong taste prevented us from being able to add more than a tiny amount. When Aaron decided to try to grow his own fresh spirulina he discovered that it has a such light taste that it is super easy to mix into meals. This made it perfect for adding the protein that makes any vegetarian meal filling and satisfying. After trying it ourselves on this small scale we were convinced that we could make fresh spirulina available to everyone. In 2016 we took the leap to buy the farm and we have been working tirelessly ever since to bring farm fresh spirulina to the Bay Area.

We’re all about keeping spirulina simple. Fresh, pure, easy on the taste buds, and a big gift to your body. Lovingly grown in highly protected pools, one small serving of our creamy farm-fresh stuff has more protein than a steak, more antioxidants than a tub of blueberries, and more vitamins and minerals than a kale salad. No gimmicks, it just grows that way, soaking in the California sunshine, making some of the most nutritious food on this planet, while using less precious resources than any other crop.
Good for the people, good for the planet deliciousness.
Delicious farm fresh spirulina: good for people and good for the planet.
Pools not ponds. Pool is a much more positive word and implies and control and health level not present in ponds. Because our pools are covered and sealed they’re actually more like indoor pools than like a pond. So for our language usage others grow in ponds, but we grow in pools.
Taste: Similar to scrambled eggs
Texture: Similar to a dense cream cheese
Adding history of Aztec, Mayan and African use
We still need a good taste comparison
