Nestled on a 200 acre former dairy farm, Tanylan Farm Holidays http://www.tanylanfarmholidays.co.uk is a unique and scenic holiday destination situated between the Gower Peninsula and Pembrokeshire in the heart of South West Wales.
Tanylan Farm consists of a range of homely and tastefully restored cottages and recently converted barns along with a vibrant camping and caravan park.
The cottages and barns are traditional in style but offer all the facilities you might want from a cosy weekend away including fully equipped kitchens, TV & DVDs, games, outside garden areas with barbeques and a Jacuzzi. Guests are greeted with homemade welshcakes and all the essentials – tea, coffee etc
Who is the core customer
From cottages for 2 to converted barns accommodating 16, Tanylan caters for a range of family sizes from couples (30-60yrs) looking for quiet weekend away, families with children and large families looking to get together for a special occasion. These include special birthdays, anniversaries or seasonal occasions like Christmas and New Year. These dates are booked up well in advance. The larger barns also attract stag and hen dos and some corporate bookings.
The customers come from other parts of Wales and all over the UK, some travelling a significant distance to escape to West Wales.
The camping and caravan space attracts a more local, working class customer, escaping for a weekend or school holidays. 92% of them reside for the summer months with their families. There is less of a need to pull this customer group as it consists of a lot of regulars wit generations of families coming back to stay on the camp.
What we stand for
Tanylan is all about providing a warm, welcoming and relaxing stay. The business is family run by the same people who once ran it as a dairy farm. The family reside on site and are on hand to help with anything.
The Tanylan brand could be described as warm, approachable, down-to-earth, quality and uncomplicated. It is not fussy, self-conscious, stiff, stylish or too contemporary.
The area of Carmarthenshire is beautiful but also accessible both geographically and in terms of value for money. It is not Cornwall or Pembrokeshire and not in any way over-priced. It is almost a forgotten gem and there is an element of discovery.
Tanylan Farm Holidays needs a re-design of its visual identity. We don’t believe that the current identity truly reflects the quality and cosy experience of a weekend in one of the cottages or barns. The current design was created in 2008 before there were cottages and converted barns on site so it was very much directed to the caravan and camping customer, hence the use of the word ‘holidays’
We are happy to remove the word ‘Holidays’ from the brand as it doesn’t hold the same relevance anymore and doesn’t position it in the right way for those looking for a weekend break. We have agreed to stick to the name Tanylan Farm.
