How Scott.west started their logo design journey
We are looking for a logo graphic to be used in our "Thirst Oasis" fountain machines in our stores. A customer entering the store will see the fountain machine and be enticed by the idea of a refreshing cold fountain beverage.
ampm operates conveninece stores in California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Illinois (greater Chicago area), Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio, Georgia (greater Atlanta area) and Orlando, FL. Our sites in the West we sell gasoline under the ARCO brand and our sites in the Midwest and South sell gasoline under the BP brandx
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
These are all existing markets, we target males 18-44, what we call a daily fixer (comes into our sites daily), but we consider ourself a family store. We advertise our 20 head fountains as a place where you can make your own drink by mixing flavors from the machine. Hispanics are heavy users of our sites and fit well into the daily fixer demographics.
Our customers are people who have come into the store looking for something to eat and/or drink. We want them to be drawn to the wide array of refreshing fountain beverages available. Thirst is a major driver of c-store visits; most c-stores carry an assortment of items, so leveraging the strength and distinctiveness of the ampm brand personality is essential.
The current “Thirst Oasis” fountain machine graphic panel has been in place for some time and needs to be updated. This opportunity is also the result of our moving from a backlit translate to a front-lit magnetic graphic panel.
We would like to create a new image for the Thirst Oasis area that clearly designates it as the location for fountain drinks, takes advantage of the prominent in-store placement and integrates well with the overall store look and feel.
Mood and tone:
• Easy to like.
• Not busy or cluttered.
• Current but not extreme.
• Geographically relevant everywhere, not just the west coast.
The fountain graphic must compliment the Freeze graphic and fit in with the other graphics (please see attached jpeg).
