A few things to note:
(1) Depending on the design of the logo, we are open to including the slogan ("Nourishing the art of a healing table"), but it is not necessary. Feel free to play around with that, if you like!
(2) This community is a community of women -- but strong women. The logo should appeal to women, but need not be overly feminine. We prefer richness and strength over fragility and delicacy.
(3) We find beauty in simplicity, traditional food, and in ageless joys. But we have a sense of humor, too!
(4) We played around with some early, primitive designs that included the image of a cooking pot with steam rising in the shape of a heart -- it was an image we really liked, but could not get exclusive rights to (the image is included, for reference). A very similar image is an element we'd love to explore! We love the emotions and memories it brings: how loved you felt when your mother put a hot pot of soup on the table on a frigid, winter evening -- it was her act of love toward you.
Strong women loving people through food: that's what we're about!
If you have another idea for an image that communicates this, we're very excited to catch your vision.
To give you more of an idea of the culture we are creating, we're attaching the list of "Foodwifery Is/Foodwifery Is Not" below.
We can't wait to see your designs and are very excited to pick one! Looking forward to communicating with you over the next week.
FOODWIFERY IS NOT…
...doing everything right.
…just a methodology. (It's a way to live.)
…back to basics.
…bloom where you're planted.
…use what you've got.
…start from where you are.
…traditional foods of the ages.
…loving people through food.
…making meals with purpose.
…sisterhood, motherhood, nurturing.
…a community, a movement, a culture.
…an art, not a set of instructions.
…a way to change the world from your own home.
…enjoying the gifts we are given in life with gratitude, laughter, and health.
…"[N]urturing the art of a healing table."
