The current world pandemic has created an urgency to provide immediate access to suppliers who have excess capacity for services and products, as retailers/wholesalers are struggling to keep stores stocked with the goods consumers need. The focus of this project is to assist retailers and wholesalers in locating goods and services for immediate procurement – on a global scale. Currently, there is no electronic means to do so. The current process requires much human intervention at a cost of time and loss of sales, as well as an increase in consumer panic. The Food Industry Exchange is an online platform through which retailers, wholesalers and suppliers will match needs and excess availability, then connect offline to verify details and transact business. This ONLINE TECHNOLOGY platform will reduce the time it takes for retailers and wholesalers to find suppliers who have the goods and services they need. Organizations involved in this initiative include: food products (meats, bakery, seafood, vegetables, grocery stores, others), non-food product/supplies (toiletry, cleaning, paper products, machinery, other), warehouse storage, warehouse staff/labor, general labor, trucking services (drivers, deliveries, trailers, all distribution) and others.
