Andøy Fjordfiske
My husband and I are working on a fishing camp in a small village at the island Andøya in the north of Norway. We rebuild an old house and a brygge with floating piers for boats. Our goal is to create a place where we will work together and have a job that is also a way of life. We offer boats for hire with or without a guide, lodgings in the house which sleeps up to 9 people, guided hikes to mountaintops nearby and the opportunity to go fishing in small lakes near by the house. Our policy towards our guests is to make them feel at home and taken care of in a personal way. We love meeting and getting to know new people from other places / countries. The village is very quiet and gives the guests an opportunity to relax and de-stress, to breathe. Our idea is based on ecology, using second hand furniture, boats etc. Old items have a history worth a new life at Andøy Fjordfiske. When staying with us one catches one's own fish for dinner or orders groceries from the shop a 20 minute drive away. The garden outside the house has bushes with rasp- and wineberries, and in the fall you can pick blueberries near by from the house. The view across the fjord offers the mountains of Norway's largest island Hinnøya, and every day the coastal liner Hurtigruta, passes by. Andøya offers a wide variety of landscapes and a rich bird-life as well as whale safari only an hour's drive from our camp.
We target people who are dedicated anglers, people who want to try deep sea fishing for halibut, cod, seith and salmon, also families or other groups for instance tourists passing by the island Andøya. These are not focused on luxurious accommodations, but rather on a genuine environment. They want adventure at sea or relaxation close to nature, quiet enough to think and breathe, midnightsun on mountaintops to take their breath away or angling at a small lake for trout and arctic char. Our guests seek an offer different from the ready-made all alike tourist machines.
Since this is situated by the sea and focused on deep-sea fishing, we'd like a color scheme of blues from ultramarin to azur. If possible, include the outlines of an Atlantic halibut in some way... Clean lines are good - not too much fuzz.
Around the camp is of course mountains of blue and grey/black etc.
Enclosed is a presentation that contains some photos, of which the last says more than words what deep-sea fishing is all about.
