Polpetti translates as little meatball from Italian. While I know it appears we like a literal look, we don't necessarily want a meatball in the logo.
We would like to convey clean lines, with a little bit of rough edges. I love the look of vintage letterpress and the old typewriter type. However, this may be overdone in our market.
We are a husband and wife team with 30 plus years of combined experience as chefs/food service managers throwing it all in the ring to pursue our passion and work for ourselves sharing what we love most in the world- Good Food, Done Well!
My husband grew up in Brooklyn, NY and has shared so many family recipes, dishes and traditions with me that I had never heard of before growing up in the south. We would like bring those to the city we live in- no one else is doing what we want to do.
Some of our menu items will include:
Fresh NY Style Bagels- the real deal or as close as you can get
Homemade Italian pastries- pistachio and cherry danish, ricotta turnovers, et
Coffee and Espresso
All meats will be made in house- turkey, pork, beef, sausage and meatballs. Chicken cutlets.
Vast sandwich menu made with bread from New York
Antipasti that changes often- roasted peppers, caponata, bruschettas
And a small merchandiser of some of our products to take home and cook
Here is the link to my pinterest board- I will be adding more pins over the next day.
There is an ancient Roman quote my sister found in one of her latin books- she is studying to be an archeologist-
"Then the cook, who was considered the most useless of slaves, both in judgement and utility, began to have value. What was once a necessary service, was turning into an art"
We would like to hang a rendering of that in the restaurant somewhere.
Thank you for your entries. We are excited to see everyone's creativity!!
