kcrocker got their new logo design by running a design contest:

and sweet treats
Food & Drink
Nice Ice is a snow cone stand in Oklahoma City. We are opening a second location and a mobile van this summer and need a great new logo to begin a larger rebrand of the business. The mission of Nice Ice is to provide employment, job skills training, and financial support to the youth we employ while providing our customers with a delicious treat. Snow cones (also known as shaved ice) are a popular frozen treat in Oklahoma City. The Nice Ice snow cones stands are built out of shipping containers and are located in cool and vibrant business districts. We have more individual flavors than anyone in the world (112 unique flavors) and are well known and liked in the community, but we need a fun and vibrant new logo.
Things to keep in mind: - We are looking for something strong, hip, and timeless. Nothing kitschy. - Remember this is a logo. More than 2 (maybe 3) colors or gradients don't work well on merchandise and apparel. - Snow cones are NOT the same as ice cream and do NOT look alike. - We have more adult customers than we do children, so we don't want anything overly childish. - Logo must look good on a solid colored background (particularly navy, the color of our stand). - A snow cone does not need to be incorporated into the design, although we are not opposed to it. - If incorporated, the "and sweet treats" tagline should be easily removable without altering the Nice Ice logo. - The mission of our program is for informational purposed and does not need to be incorporated into the design.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.

kcrocker collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
We liked the quick changes the designer was able to make and how they tried many different ideas to see what we like best using their own creativity and what we communicated.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
