It was gr8 working with Toez, I was impressed with his designs and got onto a one on one project with him. He patiently worked with me on the revisions and I was able to get what I was looking from his end on the logo to be delivered.
How GVMC started their logo design journey
I have been the owner of a successful flooring business for 14 years. I have a large premises on the outskirts of London from which my business is based. My company specialises in carpets and wooden flooring. The latter of which is becoming increasingly popular. We offer a full survey, design and installation service by our own team of experienced contractors.
I am in the process of rebranding to more accurately reflect the services I offer and the customers I wish to attract. Included in this will be a new website and large new showroom at my retail premises. Company vehicles, stationary and clothing for employees will carry the new identity.
The ethos of the new company
Higherground is a forward looking independent flooring outlet with a large modern showroom and a strong online presence with higher-ground.co.uk. Higherground provides an unrivalled service, product range and an expert installation service. Higherground looks to source the latest products for their quality, style and longevity. Higherground believes in surpassing customer’s expectations by providing products and service that is unrivalled.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My target audience consists of homeowners that are remodelling their new or exisiting home and want a quality contractor to provide and install their flooring. They consist mainly of professional couples aged 25-60 in a middle to higher income bracket. It is accepted that females have more input and interest in furnishing the home this may or may not have a bearing on design. Higherground will have a strong online presence in which to showcase a large selection of products. This will be designed and built over the coming few months, to culminate in a launch with a new showroom in January 2011. It is hoped that an ecommerce site will follow which will be based around the winning design from you.
I am of the belief that simple is beautiful. I
The produsts that I sell give the customer pleasure and make their home look beautiful. I would like the identity to reflect that.
My feeling is for a sans-serif typeface which is elegant with strong modern colours. It should give the feeling of assurance, quality and style. A combination of upper and lower case can be used. I want an exciting stimulating identity that makes me smile everytime I look at it!!!! I want it to excite and inspire.
Lateral not literal thinking is called for.
