This logo will be used two places:
1) For a monthly subscription box of health-related products, such as supplements, personal care products, cleaning products, and snacks. The logo will be rather large on the lid of the box.
2) For a podcast name. The logo will be smaller and featured in a podcast thumbnail on iTunes, along with a photo of the host.
So the logo needs to be versatile to be on product packaging but still work on a small enough scale to be readable on a smaller thumbnail size.
PLEASE, NO MICROPHONES, as the subscription box doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the podcast. It needs to be a design that works for both.
Dr. Ann Shippy is a medical doctor who is known for looking for the root cause of illness rather than treating only the symptoms. She approaches her work somewhat like a detective, and people come to her from all over the country with mystery illnesses. She is known for being very choosy and meticulous about what she recommends, given that she is an expert on environmental toxicity, and so many products often carry toxins in them that she wouldn't want people to use.
The name "Examined" indicates that these items (or these podcast guests) are approved by Dr. Shippy and she gives them her stamp of approval and acceptance. It's also a play on the idea that doctors "examine" their patients.
The style of her brand is modern, contemporary, and sophisticated-- elegant-- but still approachable.
The name even has an acronym behind it with these descriptive words that may help paint the picture for you:
Medical symbolism... a DNA helix would be great, or a medical cross... a stethoscope is okay too.
We were thinking of using the idea of a seal or stamp, but we want to leave this to your creative discretion and let the ideas flow. There is an example of a seal we like in the attached files. Thank you!
