I make engaging, easily adaptable and effective English language teaching materials ( photos and eBooks with teaching advice and activity ideas) for teaching and learning English. I have created unique photo story sequences and photo collections of situations that lead naturally to using particular grammar expressions and verb tenses. I also have written two eBooks : Teaching English in Saudi Arabia: Strategies and Class Activities; and a free eBook: Using Photos to Teach English (includes a free sample photo pack). I am in the process of creating more eBooks about how to become a private English instructor. ESL stands for 'English as a second language' and is a popular acronym among international English language instructors. The target market is people who are just starting out teaching English abroad, looking for quick and easy materials to use in classroom and private tutoring settings. Unlike textbooks and most of the ESL materials available, my photos and activity ideas can be easily adapted to suit any teaching situation in any country and to every level of language learner. I am a librarian and certified ESL instructor who has taught English on four different continents over 14 years, and have used this insiders knowledge to make versatile and portable lesson materials for adults and older teens, perfect for the instructor working abroad where access to good teaching materials is often limited or simply not available. The 'In context' part of my business name ' ESL in context' is about giving teachers the raw materials (photos and activity ideas) they can run with, adapting them to their local situation and the specific needs of their students. It also refers to the fact that the photos are of everyday, real life situations, giving a 'real context' for authentic conversations.

I have attached a copy of my existing logo-- I really like it, but my business name has changed from English in Context to ESL in Context. I would like to keep the same shades of blue and green (and yellow) since the rest of my website was built around this colour scheme.
I know that 'teaching' and 'teaching English' is an abstract concept that is hard to capture. It could be that an abstract icon would work best to give a unique brand for my business rather than try to capture my entire business idea in an image. But hey, if you are inspired and have a captivating visual concept, great! Teaching abroad brings to my mind the idea of a blue globe or world map or idea of all over the world. Of international travel and adventure and communicating with people from other cultures. My products are eBooks and photographs and photo libraries for interactive, imaginative activities, not traditional textbooks intended for traditional classes with a boring lecture format. In the future I plan on making more eBooks and photo packs for teachers, as well as podcasts (short audio lessons based on a situation depicted in one of my photos) to be sold directly to learners, not teachers.
