Ryoung got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Are you an Elite Weekender?
Check out Ryoung's Logo design contest…
(In a slightly satirical tone.) It's 6am Saturday morning, do you sleep in? No, Sir! You have to get up, roll out your T-spine and brew up some freshly ground Free Trade coffee from your local roaster with the Ironic Mustache. After you blend in the grass-fed butter, wake up the kids and feed them some homegrown eggs and nitrate-free bacon. You load the car and off to their karate class you go. While they are working on their self-defense techniques, you are typing away on your go-go gadgets and then all of a sudden "Ding" an email comes up on your watch. "My goodness, I am 'Elite", you think to yourself, as you fill out the pre-registration email for the Semi-Amateur Exerciser competition taking place next month. You leave the Dojo and head over for some lunch of the free-range, grass-fed variety, switch out the kids with your significant other, load up the mountain bike and then shred for two hours. All before 3 o'clock. Sunday could very well be filled with activities ranging from Rock climbing, kayaking, Xeriscaping or even a little Supping.....Supping, what the hell is "supping", anyways? I don't know, but you can mix it with Yoga. Does this sound like you? Do your co-workers ask "What shows did you watch this weekend?" to which you reply "Sunsets and trails, Bro." Well, Sir, you may very well be an Elite Weekender and this shirt is for you. Elite Weekender is a lifestyle brand for the Outdoorsman... Or woman... Person. It's serious Performance apparel for the average enthusiast that doesn't take him/herself too seriously. Its for the Plumber that skydives on the weekend, the CrossFitter that loves to Rock climb, the Mother of four that trains for Adventure races, the guys who ride motorcycles across the desert, Mountain bikers that sleep under the stars and the Dad that has the canoe loaded every Friday afternoon. We pack so much into our weeks, we may as well get the same out of our weekends. No phones, no Saturday night party, no happy hour. Just family, friends, nature, blood sweat and memories.
Other color requirements
We would like you to pick the color scheme. Think..sunsets or Gray clouds as a backdrop to bright evergreens..or The color of the Grand Canyon at dawn Think about what colors you would most want to see if you were stuck in a cubical all day.
Think.. outdoors, coffee, wood, leather, bike tires, climbing gear, sunsets.. Yosemite, sunrises with your kids, climbing gyms, mountain biking, three day trips with your buddys, cookouts, teaching your kids to meditate, being the Hero in your story. Smelling the grass, listening to music with your eyes closed, putting your toes in dirt, thinking outside of the cubical, spending money on experiences not stuff. Just get outside and stop watching life happen through your damn phone.
