We are a Montessori school serving kids pre-school through 8th grade. We want to be sure not to look excessively youthful, since many people wrongly associate Montessori only with preschool.
We are different than most schools which involve kids sitting at their desks, passively listening. Instead, our kids get up and pursue projects of their own design. They learn by doing. They evolve into leaders rather than absorbing information.
As a result, we get kids ready to succeed in the 21st century work world, which is fast-moving, wide open, where you need to claim your own vision, follow through on your own ideas and be a leader. This is not a world where folks sit in their cubicle and work for IBM for 40 years. You have to be ready to have an idea, create a start-up, and make things go.
So we want to show that our kids are active, they are engaged. And they have a step up on their competition, as they are ready to lead when they enter the real world.
Our slogan is "Start up." This does not have to be incorporated in the logo, but is good to keep in mind.
To summarize: we want to convey that rather than sitting back and waiting for things to happen, our kids learn to get up and make things happen for themselves. They seize the future. They grab the bull by the horns. Etc.
