wolframhoegel got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Dynamic logo for a group decision support software

MeetingSphere GmbH plans to launch the next version of its group decision support software previously sold under the name of “MeetingSphere Pro” under the brand name “XLeap”. Trademark registration with the USPTO is under way. The rebranding as XLeap is a consequence and means of repositioning the software away from “Meetings” (something static) to something dynamic and outcomes oriented. The name XLeap is meant to tell the following story to the bosses (CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CTOs, Head of R&D and so on) of large organizations (businesses or government agencies or NGO’s etc): “Organizations need to reach new positions or states fast. The surest way to get to such a new position on time and ideally ahead of the competition is to take one or several leaps. XLeap is about deciding on the “X”. XLeap is lets you and your people determine the X: • The problem(s) you need to solve • Decision(s) you need to make • The leap(s) you need to make (how far, how high) Guidance/ideas on the Logo: Without being dead set on it, in texts, we currently plan to write the new name as “XLeap”. The idea of the ‘leap’ originating from the “X” could be conveyed by an arc originating from or above the (left to right) upstroke of the X. The arc could end in a point behind the Name as in “this is where to leap to”. This image was inspired by a logo we have come across in our research for a new name. The attached logo for “SharpLeap” shows the kind of arc we mean. What we do not like about the SharpLeap logo is the compromised legibility of the letter ‘H’. This issue could be avoided for XLeap by adjusting the angles of the ‘X’. Moreover, • an arc should not land on but go beyond the ‘Leap’. • the graphic weight should stress the ‘X’ rather than the leap • in the logo, we do not rule out a capitalization throughout as in XLEAP
The dominant color of our software product is #90CAF9. The colors of the logo should stand out but not 'clash' with that color.
